The new style diker has removed the "slop" at
the hinge points. Constructed with 1/4" walled bushing hinge
surrounding a 1" rolled shaft and grease zerk.
Frame is smoothly bent out of 1/2" x 4" flat material
and is only 14" OD wide yet has a full
size 12" wide paddle furthermore, the frame to paddle clearance
has been lengthened to prevent buildup under wet conditions.
The bent 14" frame will operate in 30" or 40
row widths and is less likely to hang fruit late in the season.
Paddles have a stalkcutter blade point which provide for longer
wearlife and have no saddle brace on the flipper which further
decrease chances of mud build up. The stalkcutter blade point
seems to bite and take more depth prior to paddle loading and
also spaces dikes more often.
A new feature of the diker is the ability to "lockup"
or disengage the diker without removal
from the implement. The last feature of the Lorenzo Mfg. Co.,
Inc. dikers are that they will run on the same bar in conjuction
with the new "Clod Buster incorporator" style bedrollers
or our standard bedrollers when set on 40" rows.
The diker incorporates enclosed cast bearings and mounts on a
1 x 3 shank. |
